Beach Art Part 5

Here is a video of how Bagasbas Beach looked during the preparations for the 2nd BBIEAF.

Meet Kawayan De Guia, the blond, blue-eyed, multi-awarded artist and one of Kidlat Tahimik’s sons. He was also part of the 2nd BBIEAF as one of the featured Filipino artists along with Wire Tuazon, Mark Salvatus and Claro Ramirez.

It takes a bit of an effort to understand some parts because of some factors. In a nutshell, his installation will be related with the banca ride and the kids at his community.

Beach Art, part 3

As part of the series covering the 2nd BBIEAF in Daet, we’re posting here our short interview with Japanese artist Hitoshi Fujiyama as he talks about their experience during their immersion with their assigned local community.
Toshi, with the help of his friend Mika Yamaguchi recount how this immersion has had a profound and overwhelming effect on them (thanks to Filipino hospitality), and his plans to build an art piece as homage to that experience.

2nd BBIEAF

We were invited to the 2nd Bagasbas Beach International Eco Arts Festival. One of the featured artists is the charming Ashley Thorner. Besides her work as an installation artist, Ashley is also pursuing a career in landcape architecture.  She works for a design company in Seattle where she is based with a tech demi-god (we think he will like this description) husband, Richard Moe.
